Is there a live demo?
Yes — the demo runs against a make-believe facility with real functionality, so you can sign visitors in, clock staff in and out, and explore the actual product with no real data at stake.
Where does VisitLog run?
VisitLog is hosted and requires an internet connection to run — there's no offline mode, so a stable connection at your facility keeps things running smoothly.
How do visitors sign in?
On a tablet at the front desk. Every visitor gets a printed badge; for professional visits, a filled-out visit form also prints (or arrives by email, if you'd rather) before the visitor has walked away.
Is my data backed up?
Yes — your data is backed up automatically, off-site, and encrypted at rest. Backups run independently of the server your instance lives on, so a single-server issue doesn't put your visitor logs at risk.
How long is visitor data kept?
Indefinitely by default — there's no automatic deletion. If you need a specific retention or purge policy for compliance reasons, that's configurable per facility; reach out and we'll set it up.
Can I manage multiple facilities from one account?
Yes. Multi-facility accounts get a combined dashboard view across all locations, with billing still itemized per facility, so you can see the whole picture or drill into one site.
What does the setup fee cover?
Onboarding: initial facility configuration, kiosk/tablet provisioning, and getting your team's accounts and badge templates ready to go. It's a one-time cost, not recurring.
Can visitors sign a waiver or consent form at check-in?
Yes — VisitLog supports a digital waiver/consent step as part of check-in, which visitors sign right on the kiosk before completing sign-in.
Can the sign-in records be edited after the fact?
No — VisitLog keeps an audit trail that can't be quietly edited, unlike a paper sheet.
How do staff clock in and out?
With a PIN, right at the same kiosk visitors use to sign in.
How do payroll hours get exported?
Payroll hours export as a spreadsheet at the end of the week.
